As Jaime mentioned in her last post, it’s that time of year and everywhere you look, there’s a new beach body diet or challenge out there. Well, we wanted to offer you up a challenge as well, but the Skinny and the Thick of it style.
That means no strict rules. No chemical concoction supplements. No deprivation. No extremes. Rather, we want to set you on the path for success, which comes from moderation and making good choices on an everyday basis. The Better Choice Challenge is just that – a challenge to make the better choice for two weeks.
How does it work?
Every day, every meal, every time we walk into the kitchen, the break room or a restaurant, we are faced with choices. You know – the Italian sub or the turkey sub, black coffee or a caramel latte, a salad or a burger, coke or water, etc. This challenge is all about committing to making the better choice each time for 14 days straight.
Sustained weight loss and healthy living is all about making better choices. It’s choosing to make your health a priority over certain wants. It’s not about severe restriction, but learning to live with a guideline and prioritizing wellness over impulse. The goal of this challenge is to get you into the habit of choosing the better option.
Why Join The Better Choice Challenge?
We all know what we SHOULD order or eat, but then we waffle, let our emotions take over or decide to “give in” and often make the poorer choice. Participating in this challenge is an easy way to work on making that better choice, and reaping the benefits.
Lastly, this challenge avoids telling to make the best choice, because change starts with being better, not striving to be the best. Everyone has a different starting point. For some, this will mean choosing a grilled chicken sandwich over a burger. For others, it will mean skipping the mayonnaise and cheese on a sandwich or asking for no bacon and getting the dressing on the side for a salad. It may mean a smaller piece of dessert or a lower calorie cocktail.
While this challenge may sound easy, we’re asking you to make the better choice each time you make a decision for two weeks. It will test you and it will make you conscientious of your eating habits.
What’s in it for me?
Not only is this challenge free to join in on, and you will benefit from staying on track for two weeks, but there’s another incentive to sign up. We’re offering a reward. At the end of the challenge, we will pick one participant at random to win THREE MONTHS of FREE COACHING.
One lucky winner will be able to pick a coach to work with for three months free-of-charge. That includes meal planning and nutritional guidance, along with a customized workout plan suited to your abilities, needs and goals.
How do I join in?
It’s simple. First, email email@example.com and let us know you’re joining in the challenge. You will then receive an email with further instructions and assigning you a coach.
Then let the world know you are joining the challenge by reposting our IG image announcing the challenge and using the hashtag #BetterChoiceChallenge.
The challenge will officially start on Monday, June 15. If you are interested in tracking your progress over the next two weeks, weigh in, take a picture and/or your waist/hip measurements that day.
Most importantly, throughout the two weeks, check in daily by sending your coach an email. This check-in is simple – just tell your coach about three “better choices” you made that day. You can also contact your coach for advice on what is the better choice and for any guidance you may need in completing the challenge.
At the end of the two weeks, we will put the names of all the participants who finished the challenge in a drawing for the free coaching.
We hope you’ll choose to join us to work towards better choices and better health. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get started!
